Mark Shimmin grew up in Maidenhead attending Furze Platt and Desborough schools. He qualified from Guy's Hospital London in 1987, where he was appointed House Officer in Oral Surgery. Following on, he completed his vocational training in Peterborough and has been working in the Maidenhead area since 1989.
Mark has a particular interest in Implantology, which he has pursued with a commitment to postgraduate training in this field, including an 18 month advanced training course at the University of Sheffield along with courses in Gothenburg and Belgium.
He has also attained his Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies from Bristol University,with particular focus on Paedodontics (children's dentistry), Periodontics (Gum treatments) and Endodontics (Root Canal Treatments). Mark is a keen oarsman and rows for Upper Thames Rowing Club.
Sally A Shimmin BDS(London) LDS RCS(Eng) DPDS(Bristol)

Sally Shimmin was born in South Wales and attended Howell's School in Cardiff. She qualified from Guy's Hospital in 1987 and spent a further year there as House Officer and Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery. Sally completed her vocational training in Horsham before moving to general practice in Berkshire.
Sally has continued her studies taking further courses in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatments) and the three year D.P.D.S course, Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies.
Sally and Mark married in 1990 and they have three children, Hannah, Harry and Matthew who keep her very busy. However she still finds time to enjoy keeping fit and walking her dog.
Practice Associate: Anna Andersson

Anna qualified from Gothenburg, Sweden in 1995. She came to the UK where she undertook a further year of vocational training. Anna worked at a practice in High Wycombe before joining Linden Dental Surgery 2003. Her hobbies include running, golf and yoga.
Hygienist: Alison Hinder

Dental hygienists help patients maintain their oral health by preventing and treating gum disease. Alison will work with your dentist to help keep your teeth and gums healthy by scaling and polishing your teeth and advising you on the best cleaning techniques for you to use at home. Alison qualified as a hygienist from Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1985 and has been working with us at Linden since 1993. Outside dentistry, Alison is a keen horse rider.

Therapist: Laura Sheehan
Diploma in Dental Therapy and Hygiene 2008; GDC Reg No 152194
Laura joined us as our dental therapist in September 2009. Dental therapy covers the same areas as dental hygiene but also includes additional skills such as simple fillings on children and adults, extraction of baby teeth, taking radiographs (x-rays) and carrying out tooth whitening. Laura qualified from the School of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Sheffield in June 2008, following which she completed a year’s vocational training at a dental practice in Didcot. In her spare time Laura enjoys singing, keeping fit and making jewellery.

Practice Associate: Jonathan Roberts BDS(Bristol)

Jonathan qualified from the University of Bristol Dental School in June 2008, and spent his vocational training year with the Linden Dental Surgery which he thoroughly enjoyed. We are delighted that Jonny has decided to stay with the surgery as an associate dentist. His clinical interests include preventative and restorative dentistry, and oral surgery. In his spare time, Jonny is a keen sportsman playing football and squash, and also enjoys running.

Jasmeen qualified from the University of Bristol Dental School in June 2007. Jasmeen came to the Linden Dental Surgery as our Vocational Dental Practitioner in 2007, where she has enjoyed all aspects of dentistry, especially restorative work, oral surgery and endodontics. Jasmeen's hobbies include swimming, going to the gym and playing the harmonium and yoga.
