Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a system that move the teeth to the desired position. It is a popular alternative to traditional metal braces. The clear aligners consist of a series of different ‘trays’ – these trays are custom-made, each one fitting over your teeth and gently moving them into the desired position. 

They are worn 24 hours a day – except when eating or drinking. Each subsequent aligner is different to its predecessor, gradually guiding your teeth, with gentle pressure to give you your desired smile!

During your initial consultation, your dentist will evaluate your suitability for clear aligners and discuss a treatment plan. After confirming that the clear aligners are appropriate for you, a 3D scan or impressions of your teeth will be taken. This will then be sent to the technicians, who will plan your treatment while considering input from you and your dentist.

Depending on the complexity of the case, treatment can occur in as little as three months. They work swiftly to correct any misalignment.

Your treatment plan will be sent directly back to the dentist, who will be able to show you how your teeth currently are, and how the clear aligners can improve their position. At this stage, your dentist can more accurately commit to a timescale. 

As with any teeth straightening, retention will also be required. There are different options for retainers; your dentist will discuss these with you too.
